 Amy

Amy is a senior, and this is her fourth year on the Iron Maidens. She joined robotics because she enjoyed doing FTC in middle school and wanted to continue the program through high school. She originally entered robotics because she wanted to learn more about engineering and the coding behind the robot. This will be her sixth year in FTC and seventh year in the FIRST program. Amy is also involved in the swim team and girls who code. Other interests of hers are skiing and baking. After high school, she plans to go into civil engineering.

 Gabby

Gabby is a senior, and this is her fourth year on the Iron Maidens. She joined because she was encouraged by her friends and was very interested in mechanics. Her father is a mechanical engineer. This is her fifth year in FTC, she was previously on Psycho Cyborgs with Amy. She loves reading, playing video games, drawing, and baking. She is in Tech Crew, FFA, and NHS. And when she graduates high school she wants to go into the medical science.

 Natalie

Natalie is a sophomore, and this is her second year on the team. She joined robotics because she has been interested in it for a while and wanted to try and see if she likes it. She looks forward to learning more about the building and brainstorming process that goes into making a robot. Her interests are knitting and playing piano. When she graduates high school she wants to take something to do with engineering.

 Isabel

Isabel is a freshman, and this is her first year on the Iron Maidens. She joined because she loves to build things and robotics is awesome. She did a little bit of lego robotics in a class in elementary school but FTC is new to her. In her free time, she codes, skis, and plays softball. After high school, she would like to go into neurosurgery, either in the civilian world or in the military.

Mentors

Mentors

 Anne Marie DeBoard

Anne Marie works at Seagate as a Business Continuity Program Manager by day and robotics mentor by night. She is thrilled to mentor the Iron Maidens for a sixth year. Anne Marie volunteers as a robot inspector and a judge at various competitions. Her mentor focus is primarily business, budget, engineering notebook, and communications, however in a former life, she was an Intel Systems Engineer. Anne Marie has a Bachelor’s of Arts, Information Technology in Management and a Master’s of Business Administration degree with a concentration in IT Management. Her passions are Disney, COACH bags, and robots. (Not necessarily in that order) Anne Marie’s life philosophy is reflected in how she cheers: loudly and for everyone. She also dances like no one is watching.

Jason.PNG

 Jason Stoeke

Jason joined the team to help out his daughter, Atalanta, with her interest in robotics. He has mentored the team for six years now. Jason has a technical/coding background and is currently employed with the state of Minnesota as a Server Architect. He had an interest in computer related items since he was young and was one of two advanced programmers in his high school. Outside of work he enjoys golfing, reading, computers, and games of all sorts. Jason is pretty infamous in the FIRST community for being a tad too invested in robots. High Tech Kids loves to tell the story of how he was so eager to start volunteering at a tournament and get everything from his car inside the building, that he left his car running for the entire day.

 Nick Aarestad

Nick likes code, CAD, and robots. He does not like mecanum wheels. He studied computer science at the University of Minnesota. Working as a software Engineer at Target. Nick is an alumnus of FRC Team 2220, Blue Twilight and currently mentors our FTC team in Apple Valley. Nick is known for having strong opinions about inconsequential things, his love of Pantone React Blue, and recreational CAD use. He has been a mentor on our team for six seasons and received the Compass Award at our second season Qualifier because of his outstanding efforts as a mentor.
